Students and Teachers Create Collaborative Art Pieces to Celebrate Youth Art Month
In recognition of March as Youth Art Month, teachers and students at Frankfort-Schuyler elementary and middle schools worked together to create collaborative school-wide art pieces.
Each individual designed a paper circle with colors and patterns representing themselves as part of the school community. The circles were displayed together to create two large mosaic pieces of art work. The mosaics can be viewed at the windows in the elementary school lobby and at the art room bulletin board in the middle school.
“Collaborative art projects are a great way to promote community in the art room, throughout the school, the district and local community,” said Elementary Art Teacher Mrs. Watson. “Students learn to appreciate each other’s contributions and unique skills. When using collaborative skills, our students become effective communicators and contributors in our society. This project is a great way to build relationships among students, staff and community members.”
